Solaris 10 the UNIX among UNIX’s has been released. I have been testing Solaris 10 for awhile and the new features I love. The backwards compatibility I love, the only problem I have with Solaris is that it isnt very friendly, its still much directed towards the power user and the gurus. the best part of Solaris 10 is that if you wish to forgo service and support, Solaris is free. Thats right folks, I said FREE. I will keep punishing this on an x86 platform. It still has alot to do to catch up with the Windows Server 2003 in terms of feature set and ease of use but this is definately one of the disruptive technologies to watch.
