Closing Microsoft July 19, 2004

John Dvorak strikes again. Who at PC Magazine actually apporves the articles for print? They do a poor job. This argument of Dvoraks is flawed at best. In Johns example of the minicomputer company closing down, Processor Technology, The minicomputer business was dead. People were buying PC’s, Sun Workstations and Irix hardware. That industry was at a standstill and should they have tried to keep running they would have gone broke, they saw where everything was headed. Windows is far from dead and I forsee two operating systems in the future that are going to be major. Windows and Linux, both will be around and both will flourish. Unless of course Apple ports OS X to the PC architecture which we all know is not going to happen.
