According to this report a panel of 275 “experts” and independant analysts are asking California Govenor Arnold Schwarzenegger to adopt Open Source software citing openess of the code and of course price. They also claim that closed source software offers “superior security to proprietary software” first i would like to know who these “experts” were and what the hell they are smoking. i find it funny that HP-UX, AIX, OpenVMS and Mac OS X are more attack resistant and secure than Linux, yet these experts claim open source is more secure? Bullshit. Over the past 5 years i have been hacked twice, both of these times SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 was the victim even with Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 boxes on the same subnet. It also might be nice to mention that HP-UX, AIX, OpenVMS and Mac OS X are all closed source.
