Apparantly the kernel maintainers have decided that they will no longer support binary modules for Linux and will no longer ship binary modules for Linux. So the PWC, Phillips Web Camera driver for Linux, has been discontinued. From now on any drivers that ship with the Linux kernel must be Open Sourced. hehehehe, how long do you think that will last. I dont give a crap anymore, the Linux community is going to neuter itself because it has yet to learn to cooperate with the commercial world. Linus and his crew are going to have to quit trying to strong arm vendors into open sourcing their code. If a vendor wants to Open Source a product thats fine but if they dont want to, hey its their property. Linux has yet the clout, and or the marketshare to try to change the rules.
