Sun’s Linux killer shows promise August 17, 2005

Can Solaris 10 and the Open Solaris project kill Linux? You bet your ass it can. Solaris 10 is stable, its reliable and it performs. Better yet, you have open Source compatibility and you have real indemnification. Not these half assed indemnifications like HP and Novell offer and not limited coverage like what Red Hat offers and you dont have to pay $100,000.00 on some insurance policy. More work needs to be done but IMO, Solaris 10, Mac OS X Intel and Windows Vista have enough momentum to make Linux look like a discarded used condom in the near future. Unless the Linux developers, do something soon they will lose whatever little attention they do have.
