OpenOffice for Zeta November 16, 2005

OpenOffice has been ported to Zeta. This was a crucial port due to the viability as Zeta as a desktop for consumers and Enterprise. Zeta is the BeOS rebranded and rereleased. Its a pretty good BeOS, I played with it for awhile and that was one of my gripes was the lack of a decent office suite. I have been gradually switching over to OpenOffice and StarOffice. My main machine still has Microsoft Office but my Laptop, and test machines have OpenOffice.org 2.0. My Tablet has StarOffice 8. This is a major win for Zeta and I hope they can expand out and gain some ground. In the 90’s one of my favorite OS’s was the BeOS but it seemed like no one was taking it seriously. Lets hope yellowTab can change that in the 2000’s. They do have a chance.
