Can Windows and Open Source Learn to Play Nice? June 14, 2006Posted by rjdohnert in Tech News.
eWeek is running an article where Microsoft outlines its desire to stop the religous wars and work on interoperability with each other. It also outlines some of the problems
My Take; Interesting. While I dont think the religous war will ever end, idotic comments and zealots like Steven J. Vaughn-Nichols will make the job harder. I do believe Muglia and MS are trying to do the right thing and it only makes sense since so many companies are utilizing different solutions. I can tell you one thing though. if the Open Source community, more precisely the GPL community doesnt learn to coexist with commercial software vendors they will continue to be a niche solution. After all corporations and enterprises dont care about software religon, they dont care about he said, she said. They only want their stuff to work and work well together.
