Red Hat has delayed its RHEL 5 offering until March 2007.  This will be a major update to the system and a welcome one at that.  It has many new features coming and it will be interesting to see how well it stands uop and out to its competitors, Solaris 10 and Windows Server.

20 years ago Apple acquired NeXT computers.  I remember that day, I also remember not believing it.  Its been a whole ten years ago and what a journey it had become.  I miss NeXT, and unlike others I dont believe the “new” Apple is better, sorry.  This is just yet again more evidence of how corporate greed, takes over the best of breed.

Over my admitting that I use KDE distributions and KDE on my BSD box the few readers I have left that use GNOME are trying to convert me.  Let me start off by saying I dont have a problem with GNOME, I thinks irts a good alternative and if you like that approach more power to you.  I prefer KDE.  I prefer KDE for many reasons and the fact it emulates Windows is not one of them.  I like it because it has a more integrated feel to it, its got a ton of native apps and the applications just seem to work better.   I havent changed my mind in the past year.  The only GTK app I have on my Kubuntu box is Synaptic, mostly because Adept is retarded.  QT is a good development environment and has some great tools and has development tools on all major platforms from Windows to Mac to embedded devices.  What little picture editing I do I use Krita, Amarok and Kaffeine are good media applications.  The only desktop environment that can probably lure me off of KDE is Enlightenment 17 when it becomes a release.  Until then its KDE all the way.  Sorry guys.

Apple executives are in deep doo-doo after its found that they faked stock-option documents.  Their stock dropped below $80.00 and this is definately a black-eye for the company.  What I found funny is Steve Jobs is claiming innocence abnd that he didnt know what was going on.  Why do I find that hard to believe?

I have yet to order it or even think about messing around with it, but Linux.com has.  My previous experience with 3.0 was fantastic, now my KDE desktop of choice is my version of Kubuntu and PC-BSD.  They gave it a thumbs up.
